[Name]: Clementine
[Canon]: Telltale's The Walking Dead
[Age]: 9
[Gender]: Female
[Canon Point]: Clementine is coming in at the end of season one, just before she gets out of Savannah.
[History]: Clementine was born to two loving parents in Georgia. At eight years old, she was in the first grade, excelling in what she considered to be an easy class. A week prior to the beginning of the end, her parents went to Savannah on a vacation, leaving Clementine behind with a babysitter.
The walkers came. First, her babysitter was attacked and she seemed to disappear then from the kitchen floor, leaving Clementine alone in the house. Afraid, she took to hiding in the treehouse. On her third day of hiding (Day 1), Lee came to her house looking for help with a leg injury. He found a walkie-talkie in the drawer and it's with this that they first begin to communicate. She began to trust him pretty easily, but he got attacked and she fled to the door of the house. Offering a hammer, she managed to help him save his life and she witnessed him bludgeon her ex-babysitter to death.
Lee offered to take her with him, for her safety and at a loss for what else she could do, Clementine agreed. They met two men out front who took them to Herschel's farm for the night. In the morning she met Duck, Kenny and Katja. Katja spent the morning chatting with her in front of the house, until a scream broke their conversation and she ran back to see Duck and Herschel's son being attacked by walkers. Duck was saved, but the other man was not and Herschel demanded they leave the farm right then. Kenny and his family offered them a ride to Macon and she agreed with Lee that they needed to leave.
In Macon they run into a problem and Carley rescued them, allowing them to flee into the local pharmacy. She learned that Lee had killed someone prior to the outbreak and she is put in charge of keeping contact with Glenn, as Lee gives him his walkie-talkie and she has kept her own. They are holed up in the pharmacy for a day or so with Lily, Doug, Larry and Carley.
When the walkers began to overrun the place, they relocate to a motel just outside of Macon, which seems relatively safe, and they build a stronghold. They live there for three months, the food becoming more and more scarce. Mark joined them at some point during that time, and made himself useful building the fence to keep the walkers out. One day, the hunting party finds two teenagers, and a man caught in a bear trap. One of the teenagers is devoured by walkers, and Ben and the man, David, are brought back to the camp. David dies from his injuries and they are forced to stop him, as he comes back to life. They angrily ask Ben why he didn't tell them he was bitten, but Ben shared some devistating news instead - everyone is infected and a bite is no longer necessary to turn into a zombie. Anyone who dies will become one.
Two men, Andrew and Danny St. John come upon them and offer them a trade of food for fuel. Ben, Mark and Lee head to the farm to check things out. Brenda, their mother, tell them that the cow isn't doing that well and they tell her that Katja should come look at it since she is a veterinarian. The entire group is invited then, for dinner. Clementine enjoyed a few minutes of peace when Lee swings her out in front of the house. Lee and Mark fix the fence and bandits shoot Mark in the shoulder with a crossbow. He disappeared inside the house with Brenda to get fixed up. In the barn, Lee had found a locked door that he pried open full of sharp implements and blood stains, from the animals they've had to kill on the ranch, Andrew explained. When dinner time comes around, Mark has been nowhere to be seen. Lee went to the bathroom, but when he came back, he came in yelling at Clementine not to eat. The St. Johns have actually served Mark for dinner. Distressed at being found out, the party is rounded up and knocked unconscious.
The party awakened in a freezer, and the stress caused Larry to have a heart attack. Kenny drops a large brick on his face, despite the fact Lee and Lily are trying to revive him, to ensure he doesn't return. Lee opened up the vent, and Clementine used it to cross to the other side, before opening the door to let everyone out. Clementine stayed with Lily to comfort her for a moment before they joined the rest, witnessing Lee killing Danny St. John. They flee the barn and Andrew takes Duck hostage. He accidentally let him go and Lee fought with him until it ends with killing him too. Bedraggled, the group walked back towards the motel, happening upon an abandoned car full of supplies. They decide to take the items, despite Clementine's protests. She is given a sweater and a set of batteries for her walkie-talkie.
They cannot hold out forever at the motor inn and Kenny wanted to leave. It was just in time that they fixed an RV that they found there, because bandits attacked their stronghold, and the damage allowed Walkers to cross the fence. They take off in the RV and they learn the bandits were looking for supplies that someone in the group had been leaving for them, to keep them away, and hadn't this time. The RV stopped and Lily accused Carley and Ben and after an escalated argument, Lily shoots Carley in the head, and the rest of them leave her on the side of the road. On the trip, it's revealed that during that attack, Duck has been bitten by a walker. They travel on the RV for an entire day and night until they are forced to stop by an abandoned train. Aside from a man staying on the train, Charles, it is in working condition, if they can figure out how to move it. Unfortunately, Duck gets sick very quickly and they are forced to consider ending his life. Katja took Duck into the woods a little ways, while Kenny spoke to Lee before they were interrupted with a gunshot. Clementine is saddened to see that only Kenny and Lee come back. They got the train in working order and they began to move towards Savannah.
Lee and Clementine talked on the train about coming up with a plan. She wanted to search for her parents first, and Lee agreed. Kenny wanted to find a boat, and Clementine agreed to help with that plan after they find her family. Lee also cut her hair shorter so she would be harder to grab, and she was taught to shoot a handgun. They come across an oil tanker blocking their path, and they meet Christa and Omid who join the group and help them figure out how to move the tanker out of the way. Looking for supplies, Lee took Clementine with him to an abandoned train station. They are attacked by two walkers, but dispense with them quickly. Christa is not pleased that Clementine got to tag along, because it meant she was in danger. They get the tanker out of the way, but a hoarde of walkers come after the stopped train and they must make a quick escape. When Clementine is asleep, Lee heard a voice coming from her supposedly broken walkie-talkie, revealing that she has been talking to someone all this time.
In Savannah, Lee refused to give Clementine her walkie-talkie back because of the transmissions, although he doesn't tell her that is why. In the street, Clementine is surrounded by walkers, but she is saved by Lee and Charles. Leaving Charles behind, they hole up in an abandoned, but fortified house. Kenny and Lee leave to find a boat, and Clementine followed them. She saved Lee's life again by distracting a fellow survivor who is not at all pleased to see them. Molly believed they were from Crawford, an awful totalitarian complex in the centre of town, however because of Clementine, she is convinced they aren't, because children are not allowed there. Clementine escorted Molly and Kenny back to the home and then she went to the shed with their newly acquired boat to think on her own. Lee found her there, looking frantic that she had gone missing. The boat is in rough shape, and they needed supplies, so the group decided to go into Crawford, Clementine insisted and she went with them.
Crawford is crawling with walkers, there don't seem to be any survivors among the buildings. While the team split up to get the required parts, Clementine manned their home base, the armory. When people gather again, Ben comes in with a hatchet, but it's the one that was keeping the doors shut and zombies begin to come into the building. Clementine managed to kill one that was about to kill Molly. When they return, Ben and Kenny were fighting, because it was Ben who was supplying the bandits, and Kenny thought Ben is responsible for Duck and ultimately Katja dying. Clementine spoke up in favour of Ben staying with the group, because he was her friend and they shouldn't abandon him. The argument could not be settled as zombies descended upon them and they fled. Lee saved Ben's life in the bell tower, because it was unfair to just drop him on walkers without a chance to hear what he had to say. Clementine was relieved.
At the house, the group said goodbye to Molly as she had her own goals. Clementine holed herself up in the library and sat by the window, looking out at Kenny working on the boat. She asked Lee if they would have time to go looking for her parents. He told her that they weren't going to be doing that, and she cried herself to sleep. Lee left the walkie-talkie back in her possession. The next morning she is abducted by the man on the radio.
Clementine is kept in her own hotel room, in the hotel where her parents disappeared from. The door to the outside is locked, but the door to the adjoining room is also shut, and is baracaded by a rope so she cannot open it. Trapped, she found herself scared and wishing Lee would find her. The man did not have her parents, and in fact, was not a very nice person anymore. He wanted to make Clementine his daughter to replace the daughter he lost. It took a few hours, but finally she heard Lee and the stranger talking. She called out to him, but he didn't answer her. When she peeked from ther door, she saw the stranger had a gun trained on Lee. With a bit of pushing, she managed to get out and grabbed Lee's knife off the table and snuck up behind him to stab him in the shoulder. Lee and the stranger fought, but it's Clementine and her bullet that kill the man finally.
A walker interrupted them as they moved to leave the hotel together and it ignored Lee because he was covered in zombie guts, opting only to target Clementine. Lee killed the walker and then he opened him up and took out his entrails to coat Clementine's clothing, to mask her scent. On their way out, they encounter her parents, already turned to zombies long before they arrived. Clementine is upset, but Lee passed out and she was forced to drag him into a jewelery store, shutting them inside for safety. When Lee awakened, he was angry with her, telling her never again to let herself get trapped somewhere, for he has been bitten and he was going to die very soon. Clementine began to cry and she tried to assure him it would be okay, she would help him. She supported him as he walked across the store, before collapsing in a heap at the end of the counter. Clementine was terrified, but he talked her through killing the security guard, and taking his keys and gun. Lee told her to try and find Christa and Omid, but more importantly, she needed to get out of Savannah. Before she left, Lee asked her to kill him so he didn't have to come back as a walker. Despite her reservations and her tears, she raised the gun, took aim and fired, killing him in one shot. Clementine made her escape out the back door and fled into the streets of Savannah.
[Personality]: Clementine is a smart little girl. She found school easy when she was attending and she knows how to handle herself so as not to be a burden. Clementine often finds weapons and does everything she can to ensure their survival. She can follow reason and has sense enough to agree to plans that are more likely to save her life, as opposed to what she wants to do necessarily. She knows it's a better idea to team up with Lee, than wait for her parents to come home.
She is also strong, maybe not physically strong, but she has a beautiful strength of will and spirit. Clementine doesn't complain about minor inconveniences, seemingly able to understand they are just a fact of life, nor does she cry very often. She finds things sad, but she's not the type to give up, she only wants to carry on. She has a strong resolve to find her family, and along the way, Lee fills that gap and he becomes very important to her. It is for him that she finally sheds her tears in the end. Her voice may waver from time to time, but she seldom does.
Clementine displays a naive streak. Despite being hesitant at the outset, upon meeting Lee she never gives pause to think that some unknown man promisng her her family on the radio might not have the best of intentions. It is a cruel reality that she comes face to face with and it is her strength and resolve that fixes her mistake. She has been trusting to just about anyone, but that was prior to her kidnapping and she is likely to change that. She will become more apprehensive about who she approaches, but once she sees they're a good person, she would befriend them. She has a kind heart.
She is also a quick learner. She takes survival lessons in stride, following Lee's advice and learning to shoot a handgun to become a reliable shot. Every lesson is taken to heart and she remembers each one, etching it into her soul. She is eager to learn and be as helpful as she can.
Initially squeamish, as the gore and horror fill her days, she gradually adjusts, becoming desensitized in this post-apocalyptic age. Her distaste is transformed with her flight or fight response and she has killed or helped kill her fair share of zombies, as well as two humans.
Despite the zombie-killing lifestyle, Clementine has a an adorable, sunny personality. She is optimistic throughout much of the story, believing that she could find her family and later hoping and wishing Lee would survive, despite the death sentence of a walker bite. She has had many a supportive smile to offer those around her and she takes on a role for Lee as someone to confide in.
When it comes to reality though, Clementine is very no-nonsense. She doesn't want or need sugarcoating and if she caught someone lying, she would call them out on it. It may be a harsh world, but pretending it isn't there isn't helpful, in her opinion. She wants to be a part of her own destiny, she wants to be helpful. She was glad to learn to shoot and has become a very good shot.
Her relationship with Lee is the main focus of the series and how Clementine evolves and grows. He is her constant, her rock and her protector. At the beginning she was a bit apprehensive to appreach him, but he showed her respect and being counted on and deferred to really allowed her to blossom. She trusted him, put all her faith in him and glowed with pride whenever he consulted her. She was proud to have his trust and she wanted to have his back - and did, often. She remained vigilant and perceptive to be the most use to him. She did not realize that speaking to the stranger was a betrayal, and it hurt her to come to that realization. It was his death that caused her the most grief and sorrow, or it was the straw that broke the camel's back. A part of her knew she probably wouldn't find her parents alive, and losing Lee was all too much. She will be eternally grateful for the skills he bestowed upon her.
At this point in time she is distraught, having experienced th worst that she can think of. She is alone and scared. She will be a little apprehensive meeting people, but her warmth will return in a rush rather quickly when she realizes they are good people. She will fight her naivete the best she can. She may feel compelled to find parental-like figures, because she's not quite ready to face the world alone. She is the kind of person to be everyone's friend, but it would take a bit to get really close to her, like Lee was. She won't want to replace him so soon after losing him, but at the same time, being alone is a scary experience in her world or any other.
[Abilities / Strengths & Weaknesses]: Clementine is physically weak. She is nine years old and a scrawny little thing. She is quick on her feet and in thinking. She has a handgun and knows how to use it, fairly well. She is able to shoot for the head in a slow moving target. She can read a map at a fair level as well. She is also gullible and likely to believe what people tell her.
[Limited Powers]: None.
[Other Important Facts]:
*Clementine just turned nine, and she didn't tell anyone that it was her birthday, except the stranger.
*Clementine has a first grade education, and hasn't seen books or been writing anything in over 100 days. Spelling mistakes are unavoidable.
